Calorie Dense Foods.

Hi Guys,

Today I want to talk about calorie dense foods.

www.buzzle.com

These are foods that contain a very high amount of calories.

Calories are the basic unit of energy found in all foods and are necessary to maintain the body's vital functions or basil metabolic rate.

Eating too many calories causes a person to become overweight and obese, increasing their chances of heart disease, type II diabetes, and cancer.

What Are The Foods That Are High In Calories?

I have prepared a top 10 list.

  • Animal Fats such as Lard, Tallow and Fish Oil.  Tallow, lard, and fish oils all top the list providing 902 calories per 100 gram serving.
  • Vegetable Oils such as Soybean, Peanut, Palm, Olive.  Purified vegetable fats do not lag far behind animal fats.  Vegetable oils provide 884 calories  per 100 gram serving.
  • Nuts and seeds such as Macadamia and Sesame.   Packed with vitamins, minerals, and heart healthy fats and fibers, nuts and seeds are a great snack food, particularly if they are dry roasted unsalted.  They are, however, extremely high calorie, pilinuts have the most with 719 calories  per 100 gram serving.
  •  Salad dressing.  Usually packed with the fats and oils that top this list, salad dressings have earned a bad reputation with dieters trying to lose weight by eating salad.  The salad dressing with the most calories is French with 631 calories per 100g serving that is 88 calories per tablespoon.
  •  Peanut butter.  100 grams will provide 588 calories.
  •  Junk food.  Junk food ranges from the candy bar, to peanut brittle and toffee.  Most junk food will carry around 560 calories per 100 gram serving.
  • Dark Chocolate.   Dark chocolate is a nutrient and antioxidant packed food that is well worth the calories and best eaten in moderation. One hundred grams of pure baking chocolate will provide 501 calories.
  •  Cheese.  A vegetarian source of protein, and also a good source of calcium, cheese is a tasty addition to most any dish.  The Norwegian Gjetost has the most calories with 466 per 100 gram serving.
  •  Fried food.  Fried foods are eaten in large servings and also incorporate the oils that top this list. Fast food fried chicken tops the list at 463 calories per 100 grams serving.
  •  Processed meat.  Typically high in animal fats as well as the vitamins from their internal organs, these processed meats are also high in calories. Foie Gras, the pâté made from goose liver, has the most calories with 462 calories per 100 gram serving.

Tomorrow I will be looking at which foods in the list are safe to eat and which ones should be avoided.

Foods that help you lose weight.

Hi Guys,

I think I have sorted out my problem.  I think Google+ got turned on by mistake.

So here I go again.

Today I am looking at food s that help you lose weight.

The first food I would like to look at are eggs.

Many people think that eggs will make you put on weight.

This is true if you just eat them at any time.

What you  need to do is to eat them for breakfast.

You could have something like scrambled eggs.

They are high in protein and will help you to feel full form longer.

This means that you will not b e so tempted to snack before your next meal.

It is the snacks that tend to make you put on weight because they are generally sugary with very little nutritional value.

Another great food that can help you lose weight is brocolli.

Brocolli is high in calcium and high in fibre.

This again helps to make you feel fuller.

Having problems again with blogger.

I will try again tomorrow.

How To Stretch To Look Good For The Summer

Hi Guys,

Today I am going to talk about the right way to stretch.

au.lifestyle.yahoo.com

Stretching is NOT just a two minute session trying to touch your toes and then you are done.

The first thing to remember about stretching is that it is not a question of forcing the muscle to stretch like you did when you were at school.

It is about a controlled movement

By controlled I mean slow and deliberate.

The first you need to do is warm up the muscle.

If you try to stretch a cold muscle, you will just injure yourself.

If you are going to stretch your legs for instance, spend around 5 minutes walking first.

Warming up increases the blood flow to the muscle and makes it more elastic

Once you have warmed up,  you need to do what are called dynamic stretches.

Dynamic stretching means slow, controlled movements rather than remaining still and holding a stretch.

You could do things like Goose-step march: Slowly lift your leg straight out in front of you, alternating as you walk with your normal stride length.

While others may think you're doing a Monty Python skit, it is an effective hamstring stretch.

If you are a bit more athletic you could consider  doing butt kicks.

As you jog,  bend one knee and lift it behind you as if you were trying to kick yourself in the butt.

This stretches the quadriceps.

This will improve the flexibility in your legs and make walking easier.

A lot of people do not move around enough and spend a lot of time sitting.

As you get older this causes your muscles to shorten and become less flexible.

In order to prevent this you should spend around 15 minutes each just doing some sort of stretching to help keep your muscles flexible.

Remember, if you do not use it, you will lose it.

So put is a bit of effort every day.

Is Stretching Good For Your Health

Hi Guys,

Today I am looking at stretching.

www.realhomegymreviews.com

You know the feeling.

It is a cold December morning and there is snow outside.

Going out into the cold always seems difficult to do.

You know the cold is going to slow you down and you will not be able to get around as easily.

That is because your muscles are cold and not as flexible as when they are warm.

When you start to move around though you warm up and things get easier.

The same is true with stretching.

Stretching helps your muscles to warm up

As your muscles warm up they become more flexible.

The muscle's active stretching length can be improved by doing stretching exercises.

As you warm up their is less resistance in your muscles to movement because they do not have so much trouble lengthening

When people say they are stiff, it just means that your muscles are having problems stretching.

In order to stretch your muscles without injuring yourself you need to hold the stretch position for 10 to 20 seconds.

As you stretch, heat will be generated in the muscle which will make it more flexible.

When you are stretching make sure that you do not bounce

This will lead to injury because you are trying to force your muscles past their natural limits.

It is so important for your health to have flexible muscles.

The reason older people tend to stiffen up is that with age and lack of movement, your muscles shorten and become less flexible.

Make sure you stretch regularly to maintain your natural movement.

Tomorrow I will look at the best ways to stretch

I hope you have found this useful.

Speak to you again tomorrow.

How To Look Slimmer For Summer.

Hi Guys,

I am back to talking about how to look slimmer for summer.

beachwear4u.com

O.K. I admit most of you do not look like this in a bikini,  but what can you do to IMPROVE how to do look?

One of the keys here is to distract peoples attention away from your body.

A lot of people think that if they put  on more clothes it will cover up their body.

Although this is true it also makes you look heavier

Aim to wear light weight , lose fitting clothes that do not cling to your body.

Lighter clothes make you look slimmer and the fact that they do not cling helps cover up any excess fat you might have.

One thing that can draw attention to your weight is the size of your hips.

You can draw attention away from this area by wearing A-line skirts.

These skirts or pants are fitted at the hip and upper thigh, but flare out toward the knee, creating a balanced look that prevents your legs from looking thick and top heavy.

Pair with fitted tops and smart shoes.

Do not button up your clothes.

Always leave a few buttons open to create a "V" around your neckline.

The "V" shape helps create a slenderizing look.

Make sure you wear YOUR SIZE.

Only clothes that fit you properly will flatter you.

Dressing in the same color top to toe is a quick way to "lose" weight.

The darker the better.

Add interest with a piece of jewellery or scarf near your face.

Avoid wearing clothes with small prints.

These tend to make you look bigger than you are.
Do not tuck your clothes in.

This draws people's attention to your waist.
Avoid clothes that offer you no support.

If you are over weight you need all the support you can get.

I hope these few tips will help you to distract peoples attention away from your weight.

Speak to you tomorrow.

Is Buying Medicines Online Dangerous?

Hi Guys,

Today I am looking at whether it is safe to buy medicines online.

www.fda.gov

The established way to obtain medicines is from a pharmacist.

Increasingly, however, purchases are being made over the internet.

So how safe is this?

If you are thinking about buying what may be a Prescription Only Medicine, we strongly urge you to consult your doctor, rather than purchase the medicine direct from an internet supplier without a prescription.

If you you buy Prescription Only Medicines over the internet:
  • they may not have been prescribed by a healthcare professional
  • there may not be checks and controls on the quality and effectiveness of medicines supplied
  • there may be no legal recourse in the event of a problem.

People who buy medicines without the benefit of a consultation with an appropriate healthcare professional, risk being supplied with medicines that are not safe or not suitable for them to use.

If purchases are made over the internet, and as is often the case, sourced from outside the UK, patients have no legal or other recourse if the products are not effective or prove to be harmful.

You have no idea what is contained in the medicines so do not take the risk.

Our meat is supposed to be controlled to make sure that it meets certain standards.

They are tested frequently but still illeagal meat gets through.

JUst imagine what is in your medicines when it is coming from an uncontrolled source.

You have been WARNED.

The final decision is down to you.

Stephen Hart
